Help for Students on F1 Visa in US

Getting an admission to one of the schools in the United States and then getting the visa approved basis that to get in to the United States on an F1 visa is really the easy part. It’s to be noted that the F1 visa is not a sponsored program, as in the case of the J1 visa. Thus the visitor has to bear all the related expenses himself during his stay in the United States. Thankfully the United States government is considerate about this and to help the students during the stay they are allowed to work for limited number of hours.

About the J1 Waiver

The J1 visa is issued to the foreign exchange students who have traveled to the United States for the reason of getting some training or some sort of education. As per the clause of the J1 visa the people traveling to the United States on the J1 visa would be required to stay in the home country for the next two years post the completion of the training in the United States for which the visa was issued in the first place.

The basic reason for this requirement defined by the United States government, is that the person who has acquired the advanced skills and knowledge from the United States by the virtue of the exchange visitor program, he or she should go back to the home country and spread the knowledge to people there.

E-Verify enforced from Sep 8th

Effective the 8th of Sep 2009 all the federal contractors and the sub contractors would be required to start using the E Verify system. This E Verify system would be primarily used to by the contractors to verify the eligibility of their employees to be working in the United States. As an act of prudence in July 09, Janet Napolitano the secretary of the Homeland Security Department (DHS) announced the administration’s support for the regulation by confirming that federal contracts would only be offered to the employers who would choose to have the E Verify system to validate the eligibility status of their employees.

The United States government has been welcoming immigrants from all over the world. They appreciate the contributions of the immigrants to enrich their culture, and also encourage preservation the American legacy tradition of freedom and equal opportunity. Birth – If you are born within the territorial boundary of the United States or, if you are born of an American parent, who already holds the American citizenship.

Some insight about US Visas

While talking of visas if a person does not belong to any of the three undermentioned categories then in that case the person would have to obtain a visa from the United States government to enter into the country.

First is if the person is not a citizen in one of the countries which fall under the thirty five countries which are listed by the United States government and falls under the visa waiver program.

Second, In case the person is a citizen of Canada or Bermuda then the person need not obtain a visa to enter in to the United State.

What is a J1 Visa?

A lot of people are issued J1 visas every year to enter the United States. This is permitted by the Mutual Educational and the Cultural Exchange Act (1961).

The whole purpose behind this J1 visa program was to increase knowledge sharing and mutual understanding, Between the United States and the rest of the world. This is because of the fact that the United States government was looking forward to establish a long lasting friendly relationships with other countries. American Green Card Lottery

The United States government runs a diversity program called the Diversity Lottery (DV) Program, that enable 50,000 people from all over the globe to come and settle in the United States. Like any other citizen of the country. They would be allowed to work earn and have equal rights there by law, and the best part is that it’s permanent and not time bound.
