One question that I have been asked as an immigration attorney is: what is the best way for a same-sex couple—when one person is a US citizen—to get married and live together in the US? Like the answer to many legal questions, the answer is not clear. The issue of how same-sex couples are treated under our immigration laws is currently being litigated and will probably have to be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court in the next several years. As of right now, the immigration laws in the U.S. only recognize marriage as being between a man and a woman.

July 8th, 2010 Tushar Mathur Immigration is actually moving of a person from one country to other settling temporarily or permanently. But here the immigrant is used for the permanent resider and not the casual visitor. The migration is done due to many reasons like economic reasons, national reasons etc. Gaining permanent residency i.e. Green Card is based on the various types of opportunities like employment opportunities and that to require passing through many of the steps i.e. it is a multi step process. In order to obtain a Green Card one need to choose the path of USCIS under lawful permanent residency.
