UK immigration announces new post-study work visa for entrepreneurial students

UK immigration has announced new measures to make it easier for foreign students who have shown entrepreneurial flair while studying for their UK university degrees to remain in the UK following graduation.

The new measures, announced by Immigration Minister Damian Green, are to be brought in to address the criticism that was received following the decision to close the post-study work visa route. The Tier 1 Post-study Work Visa, which allows graduates to work in the UK for two years after the completion of their course will no longer be available from April 2012.

Ireland to review entrepreneur visa policy

Ireland will review its Business Permission visa policy requirements in an attempt to spur entreprenuership and boost the country’s ailing economy.

Eoghan Murphy, a Fine Gael TD for Dublin South-East, proposed changes to the existing Business Permission visa scheme during a recent debate; Proposals include reducing the funding requirement for an applicant’s startup company under the entrepreneur visa scheme from €300,000 to €200,000.

Murphy’s proposals also include allowing more than one person to apply in the same application as business partners under the scheme. According to Murphy, the current single-person requirement places too much of a burden on startup founders; Many businesses need at least two partners at startup.

Steps to get a Green Card for Indians in US

So Indians in search of greener pastures migrate to US looking for better jobs and good standard of living. Most of them travel on visas that are non-immigrant and mostly get a HIB visa that gives a ticket to stay in US for at most 6 years. After giving services for these many years everyone wants to have a permanent citizenship of US and that is granted by the green card.
