Eoghan Murphy, a Fine Gael TD for Dublin South-East, proposed changes to the existing Business Permission visa scheme during a recent debate; Proposals include reducing the funding requirement for an applicant’s startup company under the entrepreneur visa scheme from €300,000 to €200,000.

Murphy’s proposals also include allowing more than one person to apply in the same application as business partners under the scheme. According to Murphy, the current single-person requirement places too much of a burden on startup founders; Many businesses need at least two partners at startup. The current requirements mean that each entrepreneur needs to make their own application. If the proposed changes are implemented this will make it easier for many businessmen to emigrate to Ireland.

There may also be a new investment-based immigration scheme. One Country that already has an immigrant investor scheme is the UK. This scheme requires you to have GBP1 Million. It would not be surprising if Ireland firstly looked at the British investor scheme before introducing their own immigrant investor scheme.

“The existing system does not really cater for the needs of innovation start-up enterprises”, said Minister of State Kathleen Lynch. “In addition, we currently do not have an immigration regime that caters for high net individuals who would be willing to make significant investment in the country in return for being allowed to reside here.”

“Departmental officials have been drawing up draft proposals that would have the effect of broadening the eligibility criteria for business person and investors to reside in Ireland,” she added.

To become a permanent resident of United States of America you require luck, complete documents and a clean background.

The different ways a person may get a green card varies and some of these ways are listed below:

1. Sponsorship by the employer: If you get an employment in US and the company sponsors you and consider you to have a clean background then one can get a green card.
2. Sponsorship by a family member: If some permanent resident of US sponsors some of his close one then also it is possible to get a green card.
3. Investment as an Entrepreneur: If someone invests money to open a new firm in US that would help to provide employment opportunity to residents there than green card may be granted.

5. Immigration through asylum or refugee status: Sometimes it so happens that do adverse condition prevailing in native country a person do not wish to return to his country to prevent himself from race, religion and cast riots then green card may be granted giving a refugee or asylum status.

So for Indians in US the first four ways to get a Visa are the most probable ones and once granted a Visa he is no more an Indian by citizenship.

The Green Card Lottery for immigrating to the United States is supposed to start soon. Yes, starting 2^nd October the applications for the lottery would be accepted, under the diversity visa 2011 program. Popularly this scheme is also known as the Green Card Lottery by lots of people around the world.

To apply for the diversity visa 2011 program otherwise known as the Green Card Lottery does not necessarily mean that you have to get in touch with a lawyer or an immigration agent, provided you are able to prepare the paperwork your self. There are a couple of eligibility criteria for the program. These primarily circles around the education and previous work experience of the individual. About Education – The applicants would be required to have completed 12 years of education primary and secondary combined. Secondly there are no charges associated with this lottery from the US State Department website though. But there is some amount of nominal charges, which is applicable if tried to apply through the USAFIS organization website.

Free airline tickets would be provided to the winners of the program, to travel to the United States and stay there. Also the participants would be allowed to send their photos through normal mail. But the point to be noted here are, this feature is not available from if applied through the US State Department website. This is just a feature of the USAFIS organization website. But that does not mean that there would be discrimination done while choosing the winners.
